Ruscoe is a versatile player who can excel in any position on the field. As a defender, he is a lockdown specialist, combining solid defensive skills with the ability to deliver difficult kicks when exiting defensive 50. His excellent ball reading and intercepting ability make him a key asset in the backline. As a forward, Ruscoe has a strong goal sense, with the ability to compete both in the air and on the ground.

His maturity, leadership, and talent make him a natural leader, qualities that earned him the role of captain for the West Coast Eagles WAFL team in 2024. Over the course of the season, he played every game and was deployed all over the field, contributing in various roles. His leadership helped guide the team, and he was recognised as the first Eagles WAFL player to be selected for the state side. He finished the 2024 season as the runner-up in the Best and Fairest award, cementing his status as one of the competition’s top players. Ruscoe has joined the South Fremantle Bulldogs for the upcoming season.
