Collins was selected by the Fremantle Dockers with pick 55 in the 2015 AFL Draft. Collins joined the SUNS in 2018 as a pre-listed player from Weribee, after previously playing 14 AFL games for Fremantle. Since joining the club, Collins has been a revelation as a key defender, going on to win the 2020 and 2024 SUNS Club Champion.

The key defender is excellent at preventing his opponent from marking the ball and is also strong at reading the play and intercept-marking.He made an immediate impact and quickly became a crucial part of the Suns’ backline, establishing himself as a key defender. Collins enjoyed a standout year in 2019, cementing his spot as one of the Suns’ most reliable defenders. His strong contested marking and intercepting abilities became key components of his game which has made him an integral part of Gold Coast’s defensive unit.

Collins’ leadership and maturity have been highly valued, and he has become one of the cornerstones of the Suns’ backline. His resilience and work ethic have helped him lead by example.
